IPL Covid-19 Crisis: With four cricketers testing positive for coronavirus, the entire season of the ongoing IPL 2021 has been suspended indefinitely. BCCI vice-president Rajiv Shukla confirmed the news on Tuesday moments after Amit Mishra of Delhi Capitals and Wriddhiman Saha of Sunrisers Hyderabad were added to the list of covid-19 positive IPL stars.

However, an official announcement from BCCI is still to come with multiple media reports claiming that the season has been suspended for a week and will shift to Mumbai after clearances have been taken.

On Monday, the crack in the IPL bio-secure bubble began appearing when two Kolkata Knight Riders cricketers Varun Chakravarthy and Sandeep Warrier were confirmed to have been tested positive for the deadly virus. Later, it emerged that two non-playing members of Chennai Super Kings camp – bowling coach Laxmipathy Balaji and a member of travelling staff – were also infected.

Given the seriousness of the Corona catastrophe, the IPL government has suspended all of the season’s matches. Many players from four different IPL teams are very Corona optimistic from now. It’s been learned in the resources that all of the players, such as foreigners, will stay in the bubble. They won’t go home. The BCCI is attempting to check whether the players could be held from the bio bubble by June 2-3 using the defense from Corona. It will take them a week or even more. So till then, this season is suspended.

Earlier, the game between CSK and Rajasthan Royals was postponed after Chennai Super Kings (CSK) bowling coach L Balaji was found positive. On Monday, the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Royal Challengers Bangalore game was likewise postponed since the trial of KKR bowlers Sandeep Warriors, and Varun Chakraborty came back positive
